Chalcogenide materials for optoelectronic applications
The work is devoted to the combined study of the optical properties including laser-induced nonlinear-optical, and photoelectric properties of quaternary chalcogenide compounds that were found by selecting the system components of binary and ternary chalcogenides that have already found practical applications in IR optoelectronics and non-linear optics.
It was shown that complex chalcogenide crystals are the most promising among a large number of crystalline materials for operation in mid-IR range. It was established that the transition from ternary to quaternary chalcogenide semiconductors is also an effective way to increase their nonlinear-optical efficiency. This is caused by an increase in the concentration of non-linear optical active clusters, namely chalcogenide tetrahedra.
