1st level (B.Sc.) studies
The general teaching goal concerning the major automation and robotics is to prepare its graduates to carry out constructive and creative activities in the area of subjects related to automation and robotics. The training includes theoretical knowledge at the level that makes them possible to carry out development of scientific and innovative activities, as well as to gain practical knowledge in the design, construction and operation of equipment and automation systems and robotics. A graduate with degree is prepared to continue education at the next education level. The courses are provided as full-time and part-time.
Bachelor's degree in Automation and Robotics allows one to to get the knowledge and gain the skills necessary for the implementation and operation of equipment , automation systems and industrial robots. Graduates are prepared for the creation of technological progress and at the same time have the ability to make creative projects in engineering and management teams. The knowledge enables graduates to actively participate in economic life, including running their own businesses covering issues related to design and installation of integrated systems of automation and robotics, as well as their operation and maintenance . Training for the first semester is done in the field of core subjects (mathematics, physics and computer science), general (English, foundations of economics, intellectual property protection, basic organization and management ) and the courses related to the automation, electronics, electric drives, robotics, control techniques for industrial processes, methods of artificial intelligence and intelligent systems, as well as measuring devices and systems, industrial controllers and regulators and methods of computer-aided design of control systems. After completing the fourth semester (full-time studies) and the fifth semester (part-time studies) the program of study is possible to be carried out as fine-tuned to the needs and requirements of individual student, by choosing courses in which students take part.
After graduation and defense of their theses, the graduates obtain the professional title of engineer in automation and robotics. A graduate may enroll for a higher level (M.Sc.) course.
Full-time studies in Automation and Robotics last 3.5 years (7 semesters), whereas part-time studies - 4 years (8 semesters).
The faculty of full-time and part-time degree courses in the following special fields:
Process Automation
Graduates of Process Automation acquire a comprehensive knowledge of: industrial robotics, mechatronics, digital signal processing, industrial measurement, diagnostics, design, propulsion systems, electronic security systems, PLCs and SCADA systems. They receive thorough foundations for solving practical problems and implementation of projects related to the control of automation and robotics systems based on the use of microprocessor control technology. The gained knowledge and obtained skills enable them to perform tasks related to automation systems for both continuous and discrete time systems, with particular emphasis on methods of computer control. The graduates are able to work at the following positions: modern automation systems designers, engineers responsible for maintenance of automation and robotics in factories, engineers, constructors companies design and production automation equipment.
Control Systems in Renewable Power Engineering
Studies ,,Control Systems in Renewable Power Engineering” enable the students to acquire a thorough knowledge of: renewable energy sources and their control systems, modern measurement systems, computer control systems, advanced control algorithms, processing systems, solar energy , modeling and simulation, and control systems in buildings. Graduates receive a comprehensive training in algorithms and control systems applicable to renewable energy sources.
The acquired knowledge and skills allow the graduates to work as: designers and constructors of renewable electricity production facilities, integrators of distributed wired and wireless measurement and control systems. The graduates can also hold positions in research and development units, as well as in companies engaged in marketing, service and device support for renewable electricity production and professional automation systems .
Industrial Information Systems
Graduates of this specialization acquire exhaustive knowledge in the field of image analysis and processing methods, PLC and SCADA systems, statistical methods in industrial systems, Python programming, industrial real-time systems, artificial intelligence in automation, home automation systems, modeling and simulation. Therefore, they obtain comprehensive preparation in the field of design, implementation and maintaining of industrial IT systems. The acquired knowledge and practical skills allow graduates to work as constructors of industrial automation systems, integrators of control systems, and maintenance engineers of automation systems. Graduates can also get a job in engineering positions in companies that provide maintain, marketing and market services in the field of automation and IT systems.
